As part of our continuous infrastructure improvement, clients on our Aberdeen and Olympic servers in Hong Kong have now been moved to a new server. The IP address has changed and all concerned clients will receive details by email directly.
All migrated users will notice an increase in performance due to higher memory at the new server, as well as a better email deliverability.
For clients who have their domain names registered with SinoHosting, we would have updated the DNS to point to the new server already. If not, please make sure to update your DNS to ns15.sinohosting.net/ns16.sinohosting.net as soon as possible.

While being based in China and serving mostly an audience within the greater China region, it is easy to forget that SinoHosting is a true international web hosting company with multiple overseas locations. We will introduce here our hosting locations overseas with a focus on shared hosting only.
1) Hong Kong
While being technically part of China, Hong Kong is not within the great firewall of China and as such we classify it within our international web hosting locations. Hong Kong is by far our most popular location, due to the combination of closer distance from China (and thus faster loading time), and the non-requirement of an ICP license (as compared to mainland China hosting). Over 60% of our shared hosting clients are hosted on our Hong Kong servers. Hong Kong is particularly recommended for clients targeting users in the southern part of China (including Shenzhen, Guangzhou and the rest of Guangdong province)
2) Taiwan
Despite being close of mainland China, Taiwan does not seem to be a very popular location, as less than 5% of our clients use it. It is however a very strong alternative to Hong Kong, boosting faster speed in some cases from eastern China (Fujian province, Zhejiang, Shanghai etc.).
3) South Korea
South Korea is one of our newest locations. It is considered the best locations for companies without a China presence which are targeting customers physically located in Beijing and Northern China. South Korea also benefits from a very fast local bandwidth, one of the fastest in the world, as well as a very stable international bandwidth.
4) Singapore
Singapore is our second most popular international location. It is the internet hub of the South East Asian region. We maintain our Singapore servers with Softlayer which is a first-tier datacenter provider worldwide. Singapore hosting also has decent connection speeds to mainland China.
5) United States
The US is our most popular non-Asian location. It is primarily used by our Chinese clients with websites targeting overseas clients, including international trading companies, manufacturers, global service providers etc. We have three server locations in the US: Los Angeles (California), Dallas (Texas) and Miami (Florida). Therefore, whether you are looking for west coast, central or east coast hosting in the US, you are covered with SinoHosting.
6) Europe
SinoHosting offers two hosting locations in Europe, namely in London (United Kingdom) and Amsterdam (The Netherlands). It is a very niche hosting selected by a limited number of clients. Access speed from mainland China is the slowest among all our international locations, therefore it is not recommended if this is for a website targeting the Chiense audience.

In order to improve the hosting experience of our customers, all hosting accounts on the server aberdeen.sinohosting.net have been migrated to a new machine. The new server is a huge upgrade of the existing server which was getting slow recently. It boosts 1TB of data storage space, 16GB RAM, a dual E3 CPU and a better backup system. Clients on this server should notice an improvement in the loading speed of their websites immediately.
There is no change to the hostname (aberdeen.sinohosting.net) nor nameservers (ns13/ns14) so most clients should not face any downtime and should be loading on the new server by now. Clients not using our nameservers will need to point their records to the new IP. Such clients are required to open a support ticket with us to obtain the IP information.
The old server will remain up until we manually verify that all sites are loading correctly from the new server.

We are happy to announce a major upgrade to our Linux shared hosting package, in China as well as in Hong Kong/overseas. Most packages see an increase of over 100% in terms of resources while the prices stay essentially the same. There is a slight increase in our China hosting packages, although resources are now aligned with our international hosting packages.
Existing clients will benefit of the upgraded packages but will continue to renew at their older prices. All new orders however will be charged at the new prices.
The most important changes:
1) Disk space and bandwidth limits are increased
2) Prices stay the same for basic and business plans, the corporate plan increases to RMB2,500/year
3) There is an increase on all China-hosted plans respectively to 750, 1,500 and 3,000/year
4) Now China-hosted plans have the same disk space and bandwidth limits as the HK/international hosting plans (prices are higher though).
5) Now there is no option to purchase add-on domains. The corporate plan comes can support 10 domains, other plans support 1 domain only. If a client has a different domain he will need to purchase a second hosting package (or upgrade to the corporate plan).
We are also happy to introduce new international hosting locations, which are Miami in the USA and Netherlands in Europe.

Due to networking issues at the upstream provider, the IP address 112.213.126.20 was unavailable since April 6th, 2012, taking offline all sites hosted on this IP. We have immediately taken the necessary measures to obtain a new IP and have clients sites migrated on that IP in our system.
For clients who are using our nameservers ns19.sinohosting.net / ns20.sinohosting.net their sites should be back online now as they would be automatically updated by the system. For clients using external nameservers however they will need to update manually their records to the new IP. Please open a support ticket to obtain the new IP information.

After months of development, we are happy to announce the launch of our Plesk-based Windows shared hosting plans in Hong Kong. The new platform represents an upgrade of the previous system which was based on a Chinese control panel and had very limited features.
The new Plesk shared hosting server includes the following:
-Windows server 2008 operating system
-AMD 8 cores processor with 15K SAS storage
-Bilingual administration panel (English and Simplified Chinese)
-Local email functionality
-MSSQL 2005/Mysql databases with local database administration software
-ASP, ASP.net and PHP 5.2 support
-Spam Assassin, antiviruses, and Plesk application pack
Overall this would improve the overall reliability of our Hong Kong Windows offering.
We will be transferring existing clients on the old system to the new platform over the next month. Our support department will be contacting you shortly if you are currently on such plan. Starting from April 1, we will introduce new changes in both our international web hosting packages (US/UK/Singapore/Hong Kong) and email hosting packages.
While pricing will match the China hosting plans, the international web hosting packages will have more resources (disk space, monthly allocated bandwidth etc.) than before.
In regard to email packages, we will update them to match current corporate email requirements, with larger allocated disk space. Prices would be higher but we believe this would meet better the needs of our clients.
Existing clients would not be affected by these changes. Renewals will be done at their current prices, and we will not force them to move to the new packages. For those however who wants to enjoy the new resource limits, we can give a free upgrade and they will start to be billed for the new prices only when they renew.
