We are proud to announce the launch of our newly redesigned website www.sinohosting.net ; it is an improvement from the previous design, and has been conceived with usability in mind, to ensure easy navigation by users and visitors.

Major changes includes:
-Updates to our VPS and China hosting plans. China plans now include free domain name and ICP license registration. Hong Kong server maintenance notice

March 19th, 2009 shadmin

The datacenter our Hong Kong server is hosted at will be performing some maintenance tasks on the 23rd of March 2009 between 1:00AM and 5:00AM Hong Kong time. During this time, there might be brief interruption of service and short-time network instability. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Change of IP address – China Linux server

March 11th, 2009 shadmin

Due to one site being found to have unlawful contents, the datacenter has received instructions to shut down the server with the IP address 221.181.67.173. We have completed the move for all sites hosted on that server to a new IP address, which is 221.181.67.170.

If you were on this IP address and manage your own DNS, you will need to update it to this new address. If your DNS is managed through SinoHosting however (ns3.sinohosting.net / ns4.sinohosting.net), you don’t need to do anything at your side our admins will be doing the necessary records updates later today.

Sorry for the downtime caused but these are the issues for hosting a website in China.

New prices for China and Hong Kong domain names

February 27th, 2009 shadmin

Due to changes of prices at the registrar a couple of months ago, starting from today we are updating our dot cn domain name pricing to RMB75 per year (about USD11.20 at current exchange rate).

We previously used to offer .cn domain names at RMB50 for the first year then RMB75 afterwards. Now the standard price will be applied from the first year of registration.

On the other hand, we are reducing the prices for .hk and .com.hk domain names to RMB280 (USD42), and RMB500 for two years. We used to offer them at RMB400 and 350 per year respectively. Please note that a Hong Kong business license is still required to apply for a .com.hk domain name.

Launch of our Hong Kong web hosting services

February 13th, 2009 shadmin

After several weeks of testing, we are pleased to officially debut offering Hong Kong web hosting services. Our server is located in one of the top datacenters in Hong Kong, highly reliable, with good connectivity to mainland China, and would be the best option for clients who need good speed for their sites from both China and overseas.

The pricing of the hosting in Hong Kong would be the same as our current “International” locations, which means starting from RMB300/year (USD44) for 200MB disk space/2GB bandwidth/5 email accounts/5mysql database/CPanel, and includes a free domain name.

We only have a Linux server at the moment (LAMP). We will be also offering our standard email hosting plans using this new location.

Current customers who are on US locations and wish to transfer their sites to the Hong Kong server can do so but we charge a one-time service fee of RMB100.

CPanel hosting now available in China

January 26th, 2009 shadmin

We are happy to announce that new hosting accounts for our China Linux servers will be set up using CPanel. This will allow us to improve the general experience of our customers, while providing more options and functionalities.

The major upgrades over the current offer would be multiple mysql databases, sub-domains, and more stable email accounts (previously we had to use US email hosting for our China hosted clients).
